Pirate day – navigation

Learn the skills necessary to become a treasure hunter; compass skills, map reading and grid referencing. Follow the compass trail to search for pirate John Lucas’ lost cache of hidden treasure.

The legend of John Lucas is used to develop skills in navigation as well as problem solving, following clues and a compass trail.

Once the clues have been followed and the booty found turn the contraband into pirate gold and make your own treasure map.
